
When consulting with Waconia Barber's owner Josh regarding his vision of what his business needed to update its visual presence on the website, socials, and print materials, it was instantly obvious that his clients are paramount to the success of his business, and he wanted to highlight that. As a business owner myself, we hold that shared mindset.
In the bustling world of the barber industry, where style and personality merge seamlessly, Josh knew it is crucial to have striking imagery that not only captures the essence of the craft but also aligns with his "client first" focus of his business.
In the past Josh used "stock photography" to try to illustrate to potential clients his business offerings and the experience those who walk through the door can expect. However, those generic pieces of imagery fell flat to the dynamic and welcoming atmosphere that exists at Waconia Barbers.

Through close collaboration in our planning stage, MinneBrand Photography grew in understanding of the community, the brand, and the message Josh waned to convey to ensure an outstanding photoshoot that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of his specific business... hello, the only barber shop in Carver county to offer straight-razor shaves!
What resonates with Waconia Barber's brand identity is a fusion of classic barbershop vibes and a modern flair that is fit for the whole family. Each barber pays attention to details and makes each client and their family feel welcomed. Every detail, down to the sweet shop dog available to keep nervous young ones happy, is on the ready for each client. This adorable pup is a celebrity in the community, and some clients call ahead to make sure their canine friend is "on-duty" when their appoint is scheduled. And, in order to stay in alignment with 'client-first' mindset, MinneBrand Photography's preparation laid a foundation for a successful collaboration that delivered Waconia Barber's vision, replete with Waconia Barbers' furry friend.

Waconia Barbers also wanted to highlight the craftsmanship of traditional barbering techniques, the camaraderie of the shop atmosphere, and the precision of modern grooming trends. By fostering open dialogue and collaboration with Waconia Barbers, we were able to tailor our approach to perfectly encapsulate the why Waconia Barbers is an award-winning barbershop and why clients book ahead to ensure they are able to experience the personality and care that only exists at Waconia Barbers.
Our consultative process garnered an organized shoot plan with comprehensive list of all the must-have images that align with their the goals and marketing objectives that extended beyond the standard portrait and action shots, including the uniqueness they offer to the barber industry in their area: closeup details of grooming tools, dynamic action shots of haircuts in progress, and candid moments capturing the camaraderie between barbers and clients. Incorporating a variety of shots added depth and authenticity to the final portfolio, allowing Waconia Barbers to convey a multifaceted narrative of their brand. We were able to stay within our timeline, to make sure all teammates were cared for, and to allowed for creative and fun moments along the way as a result of the outstanding Waconia Barbers engaged in with us.
