I’m Dominic Joy-- DJ for short.
In my life I have worn several labels: professional photographer, executive director, educator, world traveler, coach, and worship leader--all while navigating life with my husband and three precious kiddos (one heaven-side).
I start each day intending to find joy and humor somewhere throughout the day. And, I am able to find it! Every. Single. Day.

I consider it a privilege to capture and celebrate seniors as they mark this wonderful milestone in their lives. I relish the opportunity to work with and honor the individuality of each Minnesota senior! As a high schooler, I played softball and volleyball, was a part of the color guard and show choir, and belonged to a couple clubs including NHS. When I was just hanging out, I would dream of places I could travel with my camera.

FAQ 1: WHAT IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER ON THE
DAY OF OUR SENIOR PORTRAITS?
Weather and life happen! If it looks like weather might be an issue, two days before your scheduled shoot, we will connect to determine if an alternate day is best. Typically, predicted rain showers or high wind would necessitate a reschedule. Because many seniors opt to have special hair and/or makeup done, every chance to keep the same day (but move the time if possible) will be made. If a change is needed, the rescheduled date will occur as soon as possible. Dominic Joy takes a limited number of senior shoots each year, as her aim is to fully serve each client, including when reschedules due to weather are needed. MinneBrand sets aside back up dates for our Minnesota weather! But...believe it or not, overcast days can actually be photographer's ideal lighting!
